Your Washington Metro Oasis: A Foundation 30-Years Strong!

This fall Washington Metro Oasis will be celebrating its 30th anniversary. We look forward to serving our community of lifelong learners for the next 30 years. How can you help us with this?

Our spring fundraising appeal is in full swing and the campaign goal is to spring into action and raise $30,000. We have raised $6,589 to date but we still have quite a ways to go. Thank you to all who have generously contributed so far. There is still time to donate and making an online gift to the campaign is quick and easy!

What will the donations be utilized for? Our revenue was greatly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and we continue to operate at a deficit. As we bring our programming and participation back to pre-pandemic levels, we depend on other sources, such as your generous donations, to remain solvent.

Please, help us stay vibrant for you and the growing aging population we continue to serve. Thank you for your generosity!

It’s Seniors Night at Shirley Povich Field on June 12th! Play Ball! Join us as our Oasis Tutors are heralded as the “Community Hero of the Night” at Shirley Povich Field, Big Train Baseball.

One of our very own volunteers will throw the first pitch when the Bethesda Big Train takes on the Southern Maryland Senators. This event is open to the public with paid admission. Any show of support by our Oasis community would be appreciated! The ballpark will also celebrate seniors’ night this evening with a seat cushion giveaway. Tickets are $10 at the gate (or purchase ahead here). Hope to see you at the ballpark!

Please, don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions.
