Hit the Open Road — From Wagon Trains to Interstates!

Whether you’re an armchair traveler or a history buff, join us for The Great American Road Trip with Allen Pietrobon on Thursday, February 5 (10:30 am–12:00 pm). This class will explore how the iconic cross-country road trip became such a fundamental part of the American story. From the early days of wagon trains in the 1840s to the building of transcontinental railroads and the rise of the interstate highway system in the 1960s, we’ll uncover how our love of the open road shaped culture, freedom, and the way we see ourselves.
