Inspiring Stories from Oasis
Mary Beale and Fuji
Back in August of 2022, Mary Beale attended a class at Oasis given by Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Little did she know how much this one class would change her life! Guiding Eyes is a non-profit organization that provides guide dogs for individuals with vision loss. They rely on volunteer “puppy raisers” to provide 14-18 months of training and socialization to prepare each puppy for guide dog training. After Guiding Eyes presented their class at Oasis, Mary connected with some other raisers and was on her way to becoming a puppy raiser herself. Now, almost two years later, Mary’s puppy Fuji just passed her evaluation for guide dog school and Mary is ready to start raising another pup. Read Mary’s full story in the latest newsletter from Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
You never know who you will meet or what you will experience that will have an impact on your life. We invite you to step out of your comfort zone, try something new and connect with different people through an Oasis class. Like Mary experienced, it just might give a whole new meaning to “the dog days of summer!”
