September is National Falls Prevention Awareness Month!
September is National Falls Prevention Awareness Month – a great time to learn simple steps that can help you stay steady, active, and independent. Falls are the leading cause of injury among adults 65 and older, but many falls can be prevented. Beginning this month, Oasis is offering a free Falls Prevention Series featuring expert-led classes on topics including bone and muscle health, vision, foot care, balance, gait, and fear of falling.
Check out these additional Falls Prevention Resources from the National Council on Aging.
Thank You to Family & Nursing Care
Oasis is grateful to Family & Nursing Care for their 10+ years of generous sponsorship of our Caregiver Support Group. Their longstanding commitment helps Oasis provide a welcoming place where caregivers can connect with others who understand their experiences, learn about valuable community resources and find encouragement along their caregiving journey. The Caregiver Support Group meets virtually every other week and is facilitated by Erica Greenspan, LCSW-C, LICSW. Whether you are new to caregiving or have been providing care for years, you don’t have to navigate the journey alone.
