Welcome Jonelle Torrez

We’re excited to welcome Jonelle Torrez as the new Operations Manager and Volunteer Coordinator for Washington Metro Oasis! Jonelle brings extensive experience in healthcare coordination, administration, customer service, and team development. In her most recent role as Lead Patient Navigator at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, she coordinated services, supported individuals and families, improved workflows, and mentored team members.

Jonelle is passionate about creating welcoming, responsive experiences and building strong relationships with the people and communities she serves. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Health Services at the University of Maryland Global Campus and has also been a longtime volunteer with Doorways for Women & Families.

Outside of work, Jonelle enjoys staying active with Kazaxe, an intensified form of Zumba that she describes as “Zumba x2”! She is also currently learning to knit, has recently started a virtual expressive writing class, and is learning to read music through Duolingo. Clearly, Jonelle already embraces the Oasis spirit of lifelong learning!

Jonelle’s first day in the Oasis office will be next Tuesday, October 13. Please join us in welcoming Jonelle to the Oasis community! We’re thrilled to have her on the team and look forward to all she will bring to Washington Metro Oasis.
