With Bill Keene

In this lecture we’ll look at the careers of three pioneering female architects who made significant contributions to the built environment. In the second half of the 19th century these women faced many hindrances to their success including opposition from their male counterparts, stereotypes about females in the profession and technical obstacles to enter the field of architecture. Their success and perseverance paved the way for others to follow.
